Joe is a native to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he is employed as a high school Applied Engineering teacher and post-secondary Adjunct Professor. He joined the University of Delaware as Head Coach in November 2015. He came to the team with 28 years of coaching experience and finished his USA Hockey Level 5 Master coaching certification in 2014. During his tenure, he coached a variety of levels from Youth A through Tier 1 AAA and high school, during which time he coached for the Regency Ice Cats, Hershey Junior Bears, Philadelphia Little Flyers & Lampeter-Strasburg High School. In 2003, he founded, directed, and coached the Regency Ice Cats tournament teams until 2013 when he decided to pursue coaching collegiate hockey. In addition to coaching, Joe has also been a Level 3 USA Hockey official since 2003.
Joe strives to provide a culture for his college athletes to continue growing on the ice, while fostering a balance between school academics, competitive hockey, and college life.
