The University of Delaware Ice Hockey Club is among the oldest in the nation. After over 35 years of excellence we added 2 additional men’s teams and a women’s team.
The primary reason to choose a school is for the education and employment opportunities. UD is one of the nation’s oldest universities and one of the few institutions nationwide with Land Grant, Sea Grant and Space Grant missions.
Less than an hour drive from Philadelphia or Baltimore, our central location on the I-95 Corridor serves as a convenient location to numerous cultural and business opportunities.Â
We have two rink on campus. The Fred Rust Arena has a 2,500 capacity while the older, smaller neighboring Gold Arena seats about 1,000.Â
The top men’s and women’s teams have assigned locker rooms in the Fred Rust Arena.Â
Our teams are always competitive. Our Men’s D1 team has made 17 appearances in the ACHA National Tournament, winning the National Championship in 2011-12.
Each team has multiple League titles. Â
Losing seasons are rare among all the teams. Â
