After defeating Navy 8-1, the Blue Hens got a long break that lasted almost two weeks. The Blue Hens, however, will be busy this weekend as they play a couple games against West Chester, with both teams looking for their second win of the season.
West Chester has gotten off to a rough start this season, going 1-5 in their first six games. They have given up 38 goals this season while only scoring 9. They did manage to score 6 of those 9 goals in their last game in a winning effort against Rutgers. They were shut out in their first three games.
Coach Romanella was pleased with the Navy game, saying that he felt the team found its identity during the 8-1 victory. It was a huge victory for the young team, who also played second ranked Robert Morris well.
Cole Zucker, Maxwell Freeman and John Redgate all have scored on the Blue Hens first line. Cole Zucker, a freshman, is leading the team in both goals and points while he gels with a first line whose only upperclassman is the Sophomore John Redgate.
The Blue Hens will travel to West Chester for their game on Friday night. The puck will drop for the game at 6:30 PM. West Chester won their game against Rutgers at home and are 1-1 when defending their home rink.
On Sunday, the Blue Hens will host West Chester for the second game of this weekend double header. The Blue Hens will be looking for their first win in the Fred Rust Arena. The puck will drop at 3:30 PM.
