Delaware Ice Hockey

Syracuse Weekend Preview

Newark, Del. — After taking losses to NYU last weekend, the Blue Hens are back this week to face the Syracuse Orange. The Blue Hens will travel to Syracuse this weekend and the first game will be Saturday (Feb. 29) at 7 p.m. at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The second game will take place Sunday (March 1) at 2 p.m. in the same location.

Last weekend, the Blue Hens lost (3-1) in Friday’s game to NYU, and again (3-2) in Saturday’s game. Syracuse is coming off of two victories over Niagara University. Syracuse has a current record of 13-13-0 and Delaware is 20-14-0.

This week’s player to watch is defenseman Ivan Sidoriak. Ivan is a freshman business major from Wilmington, Del. Although it is only his first year with the Blue Hens, he plays a big role in the team’s defense and on the power play. Ivan is always looking to make the right play, and the Blue Hens look to him as a physical force in the defensive zone.
