UD Sweeps Weekend!

UD finishes weekend adding 2 more wins defeating Harvard on Friday 3-2 and Villanova Sunday 6-0.

UD entered Friday night after having off for over a week and a half due to Hurricane Sandy and class cancellations to take on Harvard. UD came out showing signs of rust after their break but in the end, they used their depth to carry them to the 3-2 victory. Delaware was led by Junior Kimberly Blasnik and Soph. Katie Smith, with a goal and assist each. Freshman Goalie Sarah Ehrlich had 24 saves in the win.

On Sunday November 4th Delaware hosted DVCHC foe Villanova. UD came out firing early on with their most impressive 1st period all season, out shooting Nova 26-2 in the period. While UD was able to run quick shifts early on to stay fresh while Villanova struggled all period just to get out of their own zone.

Four different players scored for UD, with Sr. Danielle Malysa and Jr. Samantha Testa each netting 2. UD finished with their most complete performance all season out shooting Villanova 42-16 in the 6-0 win for UD.

While Ehrlich wasn’t too often when called upon she was there to make the key saves early on while the game was still close. She finished with 16 saves on 16 shots earning her first career college shutout.
