On Saturday February 9th the University of Delaware Women’s Ice Hockey team took on the #1 ranked team in the nation California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans and came out victories 3-2. The game winning goal was scored by Senior Captain Danielle Maylsa with only :04.6 seconds left in OT.
Then on Sunday the Lady Blue Hens defeated the University of Slippery Rock 7-3. The Blue Hens were led by Sophomore Shannon Callan and Senior Danielle Maylsa with 2 goals each.
The Blue Hens finished the season with a 11-4 record. With the final rankings coming out this week the Blue Hens have a good chance of earning their 4th consecutive trip to Nationals. But up first are the DVCHC playoffs next weekend in Harington, DE! Wish the Blue Hens luck as they go for the Spikes Cup!
