The University of Delaware Women’s Hockey team opened the 2014-15 campaign with a convincing 8-1 win over the University of Pennsylvania at the Class of 1923 Arena in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday afternoon.
The team was lead from goal line as Emily Becker recorded her first college win while surrendering a lone power play goal in the second period. Freshman Liz Racca, Alyse Bazinet, Sydney Ostrofsky, Sophomore Katrina Anderson and Senior Courtney Mocko scored their first goals of their collegiate careers to bolster the Hen’s offensive attack.
The Hen’s look to build on Sunday’s win and positive momentum this weekend as they take on the Huskies of the University of Connecticut on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday against the University of Rhode Island Rams.
