Todd joined the UD Hockey coaching staff in 2017 after years of experience as a player, coach, and involvement in hockey operations. Todd grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. playing Tier I and Tier II hockey. He played high school hockey for South Park High, serving as Assistant Captain and making the state All-Star team his junior and senior years. During that time he also played Tier I Midget hockey for the Pittsburgh Viper Stars(Esmark Stars), and was a drafted into the Central States Hockey League.
Todd played four years of ACHA I Hockey at Washington and Jefferson College. As a freshman and sophomore, he helped the Presidents win two ECHL league championships. During his junior and senior years, the team went to the ACHA National Tournament, ranking 9th and 15th respectively. As a defenseman, Todd had six career goals and 53 assists over his four years and was one of the top players in the program.
Following his playing career, he joined the coaching ranks as an Assistant Coach for the Pittsburgh Predators as U-15-and U-16 years. Todd then became an expert in the hockey operations area spending four years at Adrian College working as the rink director, Director of Hockey Operations and athletic development for the school’s NCAA D3 and ACHA teams. Todd also created Adrian’s ACHA Division III team allowing more players to play the game, while promoting the growth of hockey in Michigan.
Todd came to the University of Delaware in May 2016 and now serves as the Associate Director of Development for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Todd is also an active member of the UD Hockey Alumni Association Board and assists in all aspects of the UD Ice Hockey programs including his role as recruiting coordinator.
Todd currently resides in Newark with his wife Ashley and their daughter, Brynlee.
