Delaware Ice Hockey

Team Photographer Tisa Della-Volpe

Tisa Della-Volpe, photographer for UD hockey, wears many hats. Having grown up in upstate NY with an artist father and a biologist mother, she has always combined the arts and the sciences in her daily life.

She is a full time employee Lab Coordinator (41+ years) in the Department of Biological Sciences here at UD, where she also earned her degree in Biology with an emphasis in microbiology.

Trained as a dancer in both ballet and modern dance, she has always had additional employment in that field. She is currently program coordinator/liaison for DanceWorks! which is a collaborative dance arts outreach program between First State Ballet Theatre and the Grand Opera House which serves inner city children of Wilmington, DE. She has skated and/or worked at the UD ice arena since coming to college here in 1969 (when only the Gold arena existed!) Currently she is the off-ice dance program’s coordinator for the UD ice arenas and works with all the Team Delaware synchronized skating teams, as well as individual figure skaters .

Tisa is responsible for marketing her father’s fine art paintings and will find more time for that pursuit in her retirement years. Her interest in photography started in art photography training, and progressed to serving the dance community, then weddings and sports photography for ice hockey and polo.
She is an avid outdoorswoman with a passion for windsurfing, kayaking, biking, exploring and camping.

Tisa supports UD ice hockey by posting and sharing to Facebook, the action from each game that she attends. Players’ families who wish to have their player’s season photography on a DVD should contact Tisa, directly at tisa@udel.edu as close to the beginning of the season as possible.
