The Blue Hens were able to retain their Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey title defeating Rider University by a score a 3-1. The Blue Hens followed an identical path as last season. The first game of the playoffs was another one goal contest against Virginia Tech that Delaware won 5-4. The next round had the Blue Hens facing the Liberty University Flames. Liberty was the top ranked team and had gone undefeated in conference play. They also secured an auto bid to Nationals by being ranked #1 overall in the ACHA Southeast rankings with only two losses in the entire season. However Delaware cruised to a 6-4 win in the championship game.
