The University of Delaware D1 Hockey Men are back to business this weekend with a series against the William Paterson University Pioneers. The first puck drop of the new year will be on Friday, January 11 at 6:15 pm followed by a game on Saturday, January 12 at 5:25 pm. Both games will take place in Delaware’s Fred Rust Arena. Representatives from Autism Speaks will have an information table at Friday’s game and will also be doing the puck drop. Saturday’s game will feature Cub Scouts, with Pack 255 presenting colors and Pack 603 doing the puck drop. Other Cub Scouts are invited to attend the game for just $3!
Before leaving for winter break, the Blue Hens beat the Towson University Tigers 8-1, going out with a bang. Now that they’re back on campus, the team must regroup in order to start the new year on the right foot as well as finish out the rest of a successful season. The William Paterson Pioneers also left for break on a win, after beating Drexel University 5-4 in December. Only time will tell what will happen now that the teams are back from break and ready to finish off their seasons.
The first player to watch of 2019 is #11 Tommy Cascone! This “heads up defender” is known to make smart and fast decisions with the puck. As a junior, this is Tommy’s third season with the Hens, and we can’t wait to see what else he has to offer throughout the rest of this season as well as next year!
Keep up with the Blue Hens throughout the rest of the season!
