UD Hockey Announces New Assistant Coach and Incoming Players

The University of Delaware Men’s D1 Ice Hockey team is so excited to announce that we have a new assistant coach, as well as 11 new players this year! With the season starting in one week, the 18 returning players, the new guys, and the coaching staff has been preparing to for a great season.

The first welcome the team would like to make is to new assistant coach, Christopher Cerbino! Coach Cerbino played two years of NCAA division 3 hockey at SUNY Morrisville, and another two years at Marist College. While at Marist, he was team captain, and received a job as the head coach position upon graduation. The new coach is very excited for this upcoming season, and looks forward to getting to know the team.

After losing 8 seniors last year, the team picked up 11 incoming freshmen for the 2016-2017 season. The returning players and the coaching staff would like to welcome all of the new guys. The new forwards are Jakob DeFares, Gregory Jandoli, Michael Nisky, Devin Jenny, Christopher Mazzella, Kevin Felice, and Michael Redgate. The new defensemen are Turner Cepuritis, Michael Patterson, and Tommy Cascone. And, the newest addition to the goalkeepers is Christopher Ponticello.

The team has their home and season opener on Friday, September 16th at 7 pm at the Fred Rust Arena against Slippery Rock University!
