After last weekend’s split series against William Paterson University, the Blue Hens are back and ready to take on The Syracuse University Orange this weekend. Friday’s game will take place at 6:15 pm at the Fred Rust Arena, and will be featuring First Responders Appreciation. On Saturday, the Hens and Orange will face off again at 5:25 pm in the same location. The second game of the series will both support the B+ Foundation as well as welcome back alumni of the team!
Saturday’s game is extremely special to UD’s community, as it will be supporting one of the biggest RSO’s on campus, UDance and the B+ Foundation! UDance is a year-long effort to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer, and it culminates in a 12-hour dance marathon that will take place on Sunday, March 24 from 9 am – 9 pm this year in the Big Bob on campus. To contribute to the cause and help the team meet their goal, please consider making a donation to the team’s page: https://www.udancede.org/bpos_teampage.aspx?eventtag=ud2019&teamid=1896&mode=.
The Syracuse Orange are also coming off of a two-game weekend. Last Saturday, they lost to Niagara University, 5-3 . However in their most recent game on Sunday, they beat Oswego State University, 7-3. Earlier this season, the Blue Hens traveled up North to face the team, and ended up losing both games in the weekend series.
This week’s player to watch is #32 Ethan Docking! His teammates describe him as a “hard worker” and “always battling for the puck.” This sophomore forward has already contributed so much to the team, and we know he will continue to in his remaining years as a Blue Hen.
We look forward to seeing some familiar faces as we celebrate these wonderful causes as well as welcome back alumni at this weekend’s games!
Keep up with the Blue Hens by following the team on social media!
