Stony Brook Home Weekend Preview

The Hens are playing the Stony Brook Seawolves on home ice this weekend! Friday night, puck drop is at 6:15. The team has paired up with sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, to support Autism Awareness during their game. On Saturday, puck drop is at 5:25 and the team is celebrating their families with Family Night!

This past weekend the Blue Hens suffered a tough loss against the Drexel University Dragons. They fell 5-2 on Friday and 6-1 on Saturday. Goals were seen by Brian Ostrander, Jack Zimmer, and Cole Zucker.

Stony Brook is coming into the Rust off a tough weekend against Liberty University. They lost both games to the Flames. The Seawolves are no strangers to Delaware. Earlier in the season, the Hens played SBU in New York, and while they put up a great fight, the fell short in both games. In order to be successful against the Seawolves, Delaware must play strong and smart on both offense and defense. They must take advantage of every opportunity in front of the opponent’s net, and shoot shoot shoot. They must work together to make smart passes. The defense must hold their own, and put up some tough fights in front of our own net. Finally, the team must play their best games on both penalty kills and power plays. A man advantage is a crucial time for the Hens to be able to put one in their net.

Player to watch for the weekend is #8 Cam Piorkowski! Cam always comes out on the ice with energy that gets the team going. He is a hard worker and has really proved himself since his start with the team this fall. We look forward to a good rest of the season with him!

Be sure to head to the Rust to catch all of the action for the weekend to come! If you can’t make it, follow the team on social media for updates.
