Senior Spotlight: Corbin Gustafson

Number 30, Corbin Gustafson, has had a huge role as a Blue Hen. Not only is he passionate and ambitious on the ice but he is also an accountable goalie for the team. Corbin is from Furlong, PA and is a finance/financial planning and wealth management major. Corbin started playing at a “learn to play” and eventually switched to goalie when he started playing in-house hockey. His dad signed him and his brother up, and he ended up falling in love with the game. The first team Gustafson ever played for was the Hatfield Ice Dogs. “My favorite team memory is all of the road trips we have been on and just spending time with the team,” he stated.

Corbin made the decision to attend the University of Delaware because of the great education it has to offer. Not only did education play a role in his decision, but also the track record of success of the hockey program here. Gustafson’s greatest hockey achievement this far in life is getting drafted into the USHL. Similarly to his other teammates, Corbin’s favorite team to face during the season is the Stony Brook Seawolves, and rightfully so because the games are always fast paced and intense. Over his years here at the University of Delaware, a couple things he learned stood out. “Don’t take it for granted. Enjoy every moment because your time here goes fast and in the blink of an eye it is all over,” said Gustafson as advice for his current team members.

Corbin’s biggest inspiration growing up was his older brother. Watching his older brother accomplish things gave him the push to work harder and the drive to try to accomplish some of the things his brother did. Gustafson plans to work in the finance industry in the future. We look forward to hearing what great things Corbin accomplishes in the future and wish him the best of luck!
