Senior Spotlight: Chris Mazzella

Chris Mazzella was born and raised in Monroe, New York and has been a forward on the team for all four years. He finishes his last season as Co-captain, playing in a total of 144 career games for the Blue Hens. Picking up hockey at four years old, he thanks his Dad for this, because he played hockey as well.

A Sport Management major, Chris is an avid New York Mets and Rangers fan. A well-rounded athlete, he enjoys playing golf in his free time. He chose UD because of the beautiful campus and athletic facilities and four years later, he has certainly made his mark on the program here. Chris has totaled a career 172 points, earning 88 goals and 83 assists with the D1 team. He has been a crucial piece to Delaware’s offense, consistently scoring each season and playing a clean game of hockey.

He recalls his favorite hockey memory of all time, “Scoring in OT against SBU my sophomore year.” And, like many others stated, will miss “the boys” the most about the UD hockey program. His final words of advice for younger players is to “Enjoy it.”
