RMU (PA) Weekend Preview

The #13 Hens are hitting the road to Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania this weekend. Last year when UD played the RMU Colonials, they split the series, winning the game on Friday and suffering an OT loss on Saturday.

This past weekend the Blue Hens matched up against the Slippery Rock Pride, and came out on top. Friday night’s game the team won 7-2, after a game of smart plays and good movement on the ice. After a very chippy game on Saturday the final score was 6-2, UD. Coming into this weekend, the team will definitely need to work on keeping their composure and making smart plays.

The Colonials have not had a game yet this season, so this will be the first series of the year for them. This could potentially give the Hens an advantage since they already have two games under their belt as a new team. Last year RMU went 17-12 in their season. A player to look out for on the Colonials is Justin Rehrer, last season he was their top goal scorer by a large margin.

Our first player to watch for the season is freshman, forward, Chris Mazzella. This weekend he scored two goals in his first games played as a Blue Hen. Chris comes from Monroe, New York, and played hockey for Don Bosco Prep. He shows a lot of potential for the rest of the season, and look out for him on the ice.

Keep up with social media for updates on the games this weekend. The Blue Hens will be back on home ice September 30th and October 1st, as they take on Syracuse!
