Delaware Ice Hockey

Preview for ESCHL Playoffs

Regular season champions for the ESCHL, the Hens are heading to Rhode Island for some exciting games in this playoff hockey season. The playoffs will run from Friday, 2/24, to Sunday, 2/26.

The team has earned themselves a buy for the the first round of games, so they will play their first game on Saturday at 4:00 pm. Friday afternoon, the Liberty Flames will match up against the West Chester University Golden Rams, and the Rutgers Ice Knights will face the hosts, the URI Rams. For their first game, Delaware will take on the lowest seed that comes out of the first two games played. From there, if they win, they will move on to the championship game on Sunday. Stony Brook University will be in attendance as well, and they earned a buy by being the number two seeded team in the league. They will face the highest seed that comes out of the first two games played.

Delaware will need to play smart and hard. They have been on a winning streak for the past few weekends, and they are looking to extend that into this playoff weekend.

Player to watch for this weekend is Vinny Zingarelli. The last weekend of games, Zingarelli earned himself three assists and a goal. Vinny has always been a consistent player on the forward line, and always makes his presence on the ice known.
