This weekend the Blue Hens will be traveling to Pennsylvania to face the Penn State Berks. On September 28 at 8:45pm, the Hens will take the ice for the second time this season. This week the team will have to focus on staying out of the penalty box, something that proved to be a struggle during last week’s game against West Chester University. However with some caution, we are sure Delaware can achieve this goal.
The Penn State Berks are coming off a two-game weekend, in which they beat Cortland but lost to Cornell. In their game against Cortland, the Berks scored 5 goals, but were shutout from the goal in their lost against Cornell. We hope for a similar turnout seen in their game with Big Red, but the team should still be prepared for Penn State to put up a fight.
Although Delaware lost last week, there were some great goals that we hope the team can recreate this weekend. The player to watch this weekend is #13 Chris Mazzella! Chris is a junior, and has contributed greatly to the team ever since he started as a rookie. As a forward, Chris seizes any opportunity he gets to score, playing a big part in the Hens’ successes. We are lucky that this season will not be his last at Delaware!
Be sure to stay tuned with the Hens throughout the season by following the team on all social media platforms.
