NYU Weekend Preview

This weekend, the New York University Violets will be coming down to Newark to face the Blue Hens in a weekend series before the Hens travel next weekend to face the team again in New York. The first game will be Friday, February 22 at 9 pm in the Fred Rust Arena, and Saturday’s game will be at 5:25 pm in the same location. Saturday’s game will also highlight Military Appreciation! The special night will include a puck drop, and all proceeds of the game will benefit the Veteran Coalition.

Last week, the Hens had a rough series against Liberty University, in which they lost both games. NYU is also coming off of a series loss to Drexel University, losing the first game 4-1 and the second game 5-3. After tough weekends for both teams, time will only tell what will happen when the Hens face the Violets.

The player to watch this week is #17 Michael Racioppi! Mike’s teammates have noticed how well he’s been playing recently and how confident he’s been. Specifically, Mike “protects the puck very well below the goal line and sets up his line-mates in the slot for great scoring chances.” The Hens expect to see Mike continue to create scoring chances, and get himself on the game sheet more often, especially this coming weekend! We can’t wait to see what Mike brings to the table during the last games of the season!

Keep up with the team and show your support on social media this weekend!
