Hockey looks to rebuild its reputation

It was just a few years ago when Delaware club ice hockey rivaled women’s basketball as the No.2 spectator sport on campus. With the Fred Rust Ice Arena rocking, fans came in droves to support the Hens as they fielded some of the region’s best teams. The fast skating, fierce checking and rampant scoring, made Delaware hockey games a hot ticket. But, for the last few seasons, the team has been in transition and has lost some of its fanbase. Marred by three consecutive years of head-coaching changes, the locker room was often divided by cliques and the team lacked an identity.
