Mark was a 4-year starter for the Blue Hens, member of the 2012 National Championship team
and graduate in 2015. During his career at UD he amassed an impressive 203 points which
places him in the Top 10 scorers in team history, more than a point per game player and puts
him as one of the most skilled players ever to wear a Blue Hen sweater. Under Mark’s
leadership his team’s qualified for the National Tournament in each of his four years. As a
member of the National Championship winning team in 2012, Mark scored what was arguably
the most important goal of the tournament, ending a double overtime marathon against Ohio
University in the quarterfinals. Mark also played a year for the D2 Team at UD helping them
win their first MACH championship in 2014-15.
Mark was a leader of the team serving as a team captain. He led the team in scoring his junior
and senior season and he lead the entire ACHA in goals and points in his senior year. For
these accomplishments Mark was recognized as an ACHA 1 st team All-American 2013-2014,
ACHA 1 st Team All-Tournament in 2011-2012 and 2-time ACHA all-star. He was also awarded
with the Outstanding Forward Award and Team MVP honors in consecutive seasons with the
Blue Hens.
In addition to his on-ice accomplishments, Mark’s leadership transcended off the ice with his
mentoring of younger players and transitioning new coaches into the program. He was also a
very big part of the Delaware hockey community, often working to develop youth hockey
players through clinics and coaching sessions. Following his graduation Mark has remained
close to the program as an active Alumni.
