Christian Gingras

Christian Gingras was a 4-year starting defensemen for the Blue Hens from 1993 to 1997. Over his career for the Hens he collected an impressive 87 points, earned numerous team, league and national awards and was considered one of the hardest workers and best leaders in team history.   Standing nearly 6′ 7″ on skates, Christian was hard to miss on the ice using his size and long reach to his advantage. He was an anchor on the blue line for the Hens and an integral part of his teams three league championships and four ACHA Top 10 finishes during his career. 

Christian was recognized as an ECHA league all-star in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.  He achieved ACHA All-American defensemen honors in his junior and senior seasons. In addition to his league and national recognition Christian was voted as a team captain in his junior and senior years.   He was given the Best Defensemen award as a junior and Team MVP award as a senior. Christian would go on to be inducted to the UD hockey hall of fame in his first year of eligibility in 2000.

Following his graduation, Christian has been a tremendous advocate for the hockey program and remains extremely active in supporting the team to this day.  Today Christian lives in Doylestown, PA with his wife, Kate (UD ’99), and three children, Anna, Brady, and Juliet. He is currently a Director of Sales with High Availability, Inc just outside of Philadelphia.
