As we kick off the 2018-2019 season, it’s our pleasure to acknowledge the season’s captains, Michael Zidansek, Chris Mazzella, Kevin Felice and Michael Nisky. These captains have demonstrated their leadership abilities on and off the ice and are well prepared to lead the team to success throughout this upcoming season.
Michael Zidansek – Captain
Captain #24 Michael Zidansek is a senior studying Political Science from Hermitage, PA. This Blue Hen defenseman, known for his frequent trips to the penalty box, is looking forward to demonstrating his leadership on his final season with the team. During the 2017-2018 season, Zid had 5 goals and 13 assists, totaling 18 points.

Chris Mazzella – Assistant Captain
Hailing from Monroe, New York, junior forward #13 Chris Mazzella is a model player on the ice. This Sports Management major already has six goals for this 2018-2019 season, as well as 2 assists, and is a promising player leader for the Blue Hens. After three seasons of showcasing his capabilities, Mazzella is ready to take on the assistant captain role and lead his team to victory.

Michael Nisky – Assistant Captain
Forward #22 Michael Nisky is a junior from Colonia, NJ, majoring in Accounting and MIS. Nisky will also be an assistant captain for the 2018-2019 season. Nisky, known for his quick moves on the ice, has had 21 goals and 51 assists since joining UD’s D1 Men’s Hockey team his freshman year.

Kevin Felice – Assistant Captain
Lastly but certainly not least, #16 Kevin Felice, representing Middletown, NJ, will be another one of the assistant captains. Majoring in Mathematics Education, this junior forward has played with the team for three seasons and has totaled 4 goals already for the 2018-2019 season, with two assists. We are eagerly looking forward to watching him succeed throughout the rest of the season.

Between our captain and assistant captains, the Blue Hens are definitely set with their leadership team. The four have already proven themselves as fantastic leaders, and we are so excited to continue watching them grow and succeed on and off the ice. Zid, Mazzella, Felice and Nisky are a force to be reckoned with, and are excited to lead the Hens this season.
