While working hard to lead their team to victory, Cole, Shane, and Mike have all made huge impacts on their teammates. Freshman, Harrison Good, said, “Cole Zucker is a natural leader who shows natural leadership qualities in everything he does. He is a fun guy to be around and knows how to make all the rookies feel welcome.” Andrew Corapi said, “The undisputed leader of this year’s team, Cole has the ability to balance his leadership duties while still keeping the mood light in and out of the rink. And Shane, he is our silent soldier. He leads through his relentless play style and sets the bar for work ethic. Mike is the leader of the defensive unit. Mike shuts down opposing teams and brings energy into every situation on the ice.” Harrison Chuma added, “Zidansek is just all around a great guy and he helped make the transition onto the team seamless. When you’re around him it doesn’t feel like you’re a freshman or a rookie, it just feels like you’re another guy on the team.” Michael Redgate said, “Shane Mullin is the hardest working guy on our team. He has blocked more shots than anyone else on our team. Cole cares so much about the team and the program. Zidansek is a great leader, without him the defense wouldn’t have someone to look up to.” Andrew Marciniak praised, “Zucker is dedicated to the boys, and keeps us positive and on track for all practices and games. Mullin shows his leadership by coming to work everyday and leading by example. Zidansek is a guy you can go to for advice on and off the ice. He eases the nerves between periods when the boys aren’t playing their best.” Drew Torrey said, “Shane Mullin is a silent leader. Never afraid to block a shot or sacrifice his body to make a play. Cole Zucker is a natural born leader with excellent offense abilities.” Ian Anderson added, “Mullin is a lead by example guy in our room. Not only is Zucker the captain of our team, but he is also the president and very on top of things. Zid is a guy who you love to have on the team and to have your back in the game.” Finally, Tommy Cascone mentioned, “Mullin is a shot blocking machine.”
A quote by Unknown sums up the role of these young men best, “My responsibility is getting all my players playing for the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back.” In order for the team to have a successful season, Cole, Shane, and Mike must inspire their team to want to be the best and work together as a whole unit. When times get tough, these three are going to be the one’s that their teammates look to for support.
