The Blue Hens prepare for UDance in March

Every school day 46 children are diagnosed with cancer. This year we are joining forces with UDance, the University of Delaware’s largest student-run philanthropy, to help raise awareness and funds for these children. UDance is a yearlong effort that culminates in a 12-hour dance marathon every March.

On March 13, 2016, The University of Delaware Ice Hockey teams is participating in UDance! Last year, UDance raised over 1.28 million dollars for children fighting pediatric cancer and their families. Since UDance began in 2007, we have raised over 3.56 million dollars, simultaneously unifying The University of Delaware community, and raising awareness for pediatric cancer.

All money raised from UDance benefits The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, an organization that is based in Delaware. The B+ Foundation honors the memory of Andrew, who battled Leukemia at age 14 before passing away in 2007. Spreading the Be Positive message and teaching others to  Live Like Andrew is a key part of our mission. UDance and The B+ Foundation support families impacted by childhood cancer financially, and provide a supportive community to assist in their fight. UDance’s donations also fund pediatric cancer research across the United States.

UD Hockey is proud to be participating in UDance 2016 to fight childhood cancer. Please consider contributing to our cause through a donation to UDance. Your generous donation will provide hope and support for the 46 children diagnosed with cancer every school day.

Thank you for supporting UDance. Together, we will make a difference in the lives of those battling pediatric cancer! With your help, we will be one step closer to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
