Blue Hen Hockey Headed to Jacksonville for AAU D2 National Tournament

The University of Delaware AAU-D2 ice hockey team is packing their bags and heading south — way south. The Blue Hens are set to compete in the 2026 AAU College Hockey Division II National Tournament at the First Community Igloo in Jacksonville, Florida, and the puck drops this Friday.

The Division II National Tournament field features 12 teams from five conferences — the ACCHL, DVCHC, EMPIRE, NEIHC, and UNYCHL. One team from each conference earns an automatic bid based on conference rules, while the remaining seven spots are filled by the next highest-ranked teams in the Final National Ranking.

The tournament is a double elimination format. So the schedule will be day by day.

Delaware opens tournament play on Friday, March 5 at 11:00 AM against SUNY-Cortland — a familiar opponent. The two teams met earlier this season on January 31 at the Gold Arena, where Cortland came away with a 5-2 victory. The Blue Hens will be looking to flip the script in a much bigger setting this time around, with a national championship on the line.
